British Magazine "Searchlight" Outs Anti-Semite

A key figure in the Federation of Small Businesses has been suspended from his post, after [the British antifascist/anti-reacist] Searchlight magazine exposed him as a leading distributor of anti-Semitic literature.
Don Martin, leader of the British League of Rights, is the chairman of the FSB's policy unit, which represents the interests of small companies and has spearheaded the campaign to reduce fuel prices.
In November last year, Searchlight disclosed details of Martin's involvement in far-right political groups and his ownership of Bloomfield Books, a notorious mail order company distributing such works as The Protocols of the Elders of Zion and The Dangerous Myth of Racial Equality.
They also uncovered Martin's link with Holocaust denier David Irving and his work for On Target, a fortnightly political bulletin, in which he wrote about the "predominant role of certain Jewish organisations...in the unbroken chain of revolution".
The FSB, which represents more than 150,000 small companies in Britain, has now taken action against Martin. The organisation's honorary national secretary, David Dexter, said: "The executive board has instigated an independent in-depth investigation into an article published by Searchlight. "In the meantime, the board has invited Martin to stand back from the activities as UK policy unit chairman and spokesman for the FSB until the investigation has been completed."
A spokesman for Searchlight said: "At a heated executive committee meeting, Martin was asked to clear his desk. It seems that the Searchlight article was the last straw for some within the FSB who had long been uncomfortable with martin's politics, even though Martin had represented the group on platforms with politicians all persuasions."
He added: "Despite attempts to ingratiate himself in
more respectable right-wing campaigns, anti-Semitism
was never far from the surface."
