America has been organizing sessions at the ASSA meetings for the last twenty years or so. He has another edited volume coming out this year, I believe.
Oliver and Shapiro's _Black Wealth/White Wealth_ is also a very good reference on asset accumulation (and lack thereof) and distribution (and maldistribution). The annual _State of Black America_ is also a great reference from the National Urban League.
