Try "The Space Merchants" by . . . someone whose name escapes me at the
moment. It's kind of "clunky" in it's "Golden-Age SF" style (especially
after reading Gibson and Sterling), but it's one of the few SF books I've
even heard of which is openly critical of capitalism (vide. The Encyclopedia
of Science Fiction, "Economics").
