So Mexican GDP is down two quarters in a row (00Q4 & 01Q1) - meaning that by one conventional definition, the country's in recession. The U.S. slowdown seems to be hurting Latin America.

Doug

-And Argentina is already in recession while Brazil had 3,7% growth in the 1st quarter (less than 5,5% expected) and this will worsen a lot since we will had energy shortages that will demand a 20% dcrease in electricity spending. Does someone have data for Chile??
