oh b.s. nathan. i was arguing that i thought his explanation disingenuous. there are many ways to meet people who are HIV+. there are places to meet people who are monogamy oriented. a barebacking site isn't exactly the best pick. i'm not saying that we should dictate how to do anything. i merely pointed out that his story doesn't jive with me, given what i know about barebacking sites and what i know about alternatives, etc.

i don't care what people do in their personal life. i don't care if he wants to fuck a statue of lincoln after taking a bottle of viagara and a handful of poppers! if, however, they run around wagging their finger at others and do so in ways that reinscribe stereotypes about gay men (and, not incidentally about het and lesbian women's "nesting" instincts or some such), then he's game for being exposed for being a hypocrite. that doesn't mean that i advocate that this be a legit tactic. the people behind this ought to be criticized. but i hardly feel sorry for andrew sullivan and i def. don't believe his story.
