Leftists (white) and Black Liberation

I always love how white folks like to pull out the isolated Negro like Paul Gilroy or Adolph Reed to fight back against challenges to their ignorance and stupidity.

Notice how with Gilroy, you didn't see any Black people with praise for the books. Surely there had to be one other person who thought he made sense, unless, of course, he doesn't.

This tactic tends to be the way in which White Supremacy manifests itself on the Left. The sense of incredulence that a "good" white leftie would have his ideas dismissed, forces them to veil their racism and hatred behind a mask by using the minstrel academic, much the way the right uses the Clarence Thomases and Ward Connerlys. It's a diversionary tactic, but for anyone with eyes to see, the racism and eurocentric arrogance is right there.

Their second favorite tool is the irrelevent polls, which only show personal proclivity, and not societal politics.

As a simple example, ask any Black woman two questions:

1. Do you believe in abortion?

2. Do you think we should pass a law to ban abortion?

The answer to 1 will almost always be NO, but the answer to 2 will also almost always be NO. The difference with Black people is while they may be conservative on a personal level, often talking in private conversations about how filthy, disgusting, and immoral white people are, that doesn't mean they want to impose those ideas on the society at large, as whites usually do.

This is the sort of understanding of indentity and culture which you cannot glean from polls and statistics.
