ObL (not) the target?

The quickest answer is: Kill ObL, kiss Saudi goodbye. ObL is the Saudis' front man for financing Wahhabite terrorism worldwide, which gives them legitimacy in the eyes of the populo and keeps competitors (oil or strategic) like Iran & Russia respectful. If the US gets him, sooner or later the finger is going to point at the US troops camping on the Sauds' front lawn and suicide bombers will start jumping in the palace windows. ObL wants to be Saudi king and has support of one royal family faction, which is reassuring for the Saud clan but not for the current Prince.

Being an international pariah guarantees that he will remain in exile, so he's not a candidate. He can continue to play with his terrorists, giving the US plenty of excuses for bombing whoever the hell it wants.

Am preparing dissertation on the subject.

|| How is this conclusive? The U.S. has turned on plenty of former

|| clients - Noriega and Saddam pop right into mind. Yesterday's friend

|| can be today's enemy. Ask Joe Stalin.
