Rummy don't want to blow up Iraq for nuthin'. The man is perceived as a great threat regardless of the fact that Poppy Bush was complicit in selling him weapons and allowing him to retain power after the Gulf War. I have no ready citation, but it seems likely that, other things being equal, the CIA would take him out given half a chance.
