That's not quite right. Far from "vying for a chance to represent the radicals," Genovese attacked them bitterly and argued on the floor of the meeting against an anti-war statement. (And the rather genteel wrestling match was between Fairbank and Zinn, the former having grabbed the microphone away from the latter.) --CGE
