If this is a reaction to what I said about the Hit List piece, the anti-Communism I'm referring to is a broader anti-leftism. It treats any critique of NATO, or U.S. imperialism, as otherworldly. It made fun of William Kunstler in conventional ways. The bits about Israel and Palestine sound almost like the New Republic.

BTW, newest issue of New Left Review has Peter Gowan, author of, "The Global Gamble." Gowan is very sharp on the more wooly minded versions of liberal/socdem. imperialism.
Trying to keep my posts down, so a few other words...In the newest Rethinking Marxism there is an interview with Human Rights Watch staffers, Reed Brophy, author of a South End Press book from '85, "Contra Terror in Nicaragua, " and Joe Stork, former editor of the leftish MERIP journal on the "Middle East." One interesting factoid, Richard Falk is an advisor to Kofi Annan. Falk in the late 60's co-edited with Gabriel Kolko and Robert Jay Lifton a great anthology on War Crimes for Random House/Vintage.
Other new journal worth checking out. Race Traitor vs. Socialist Review: The Suppressed Surrealism issue. SR has really gone downhill since the early 90's Michael Pugliese P.S. "My anti-Communism..." "My Negro Problem And Ours, " Norman Podhoretz, 1963 or so, Commentary...Uh, oh! ;-( Course back then he was publishing folks Staughton Lynd on the Cold War...
