Only problem is, there is no pattern. The geopolitics of late capitalism are complex webs of mediations, not crude gangster-politics, and this attempt to rewrite geopolitics into the machinations of Enron/Halliburton execs won't wash. The single pattern you're seeing is your own assumption that the US is in charge of the world-system. It's not. The EU and East Asia run the show; Bananamerica is hired muscle. Right now, the muscle is cracking down on a bunch of Far Right thugs which Bush Senior created back in the 1980s -- a fine example of what the Rastas would call Babylon warring on itself. Rather than take sides, the Left has to uphold the principle of multinational justice.
