From whose point of view? Having destroyed the left, the U.S. bourgeoisie ended up with a pretty free reign for a couple of decades. They've got a little problem on their hands now, for sure, but where would they be if Commies had gotten control of Middle Eastern oil, and there was a strong domestic left in the U.S.? The profit rate wouldn't have risen from 1982 to 1997, for sure.
