Have you hugged your boss today?

The latest pap on post-traumatic stress disorder comes Marshall Loeb of CBS MarketWatch, who describes it as a condition that may affect even those "living and working hundreds of miles away from lower Manhattan or suburban Washington." He shovels out sympathy in every conceivable direction, notably including:

"Don't presume that the strong manager is immune from stress. Many of those bosses, who bottled up their own feelings in the early days after the tragedy, may soon show signs of a real problem. The need to be strong for others can be incredibly demanding, and there is only so much that one can take.

"So, remember that the boss is human, too. And don't hesitate to compliment her or him for a job well done ... there's nothing wrong with praising up -- particularly in times like these."
