Not precisely anti-semitic, no. Your words were highly suggestive of a phrase I'd heard that was very anti-semitic: "Too bad Hitler didn't finish the job." You wrote words that seemed very similar, but directed against monotheistic religion in general: "To bad the Romans didn't finish the job (of destroying Christianity, Judaism, and Islam)." If you feel I misconstrued your meaning (and I thought it was uncharacteristic of you to make a statement in such a vein, which is why I worded the question in the manner I did), then I apologize; however, ever since Chip called out someone on this list for remarks about Christianity, I've been a bit sensitive to it. The first time you used that statement, I was a bit confused about your meaning; the second time, I felt I should say something (as well as provide a bit of historical background).
BTW, the name of the emperor who corresponded with Pliny the Younger about the treatment of Christians was Trajan.
