Dr. Data strikes again! No doubt my permabearishness and personal joblessness have skewed my perspective; still, the rate at which jobs have been disappearing this year has been great and growing. And many of the remaining jobs that were created in the '90s were founded on assumptions of consumer demand, global integration and US hegemony that have been seriously challenged, to say the least, by the Sept. 11 attack. I fear it's still early days for job destruction.
