Take a gander a John Ralston Saul's Voltaire's Bastards or it's less meatier companion, The Unconcious Society for his take on corporatism in modern day (well, Eighties anyway) Canada. Interesting stuff even if it's spiced more for the palatte of the social democrat or "left Liberal".
