On Sunday, Oct 21, 2001 at 6pm in Aud D Goldwin Smith Film Screening and Panel Discussion Christine Choy, a film director who was nominated for The Academy awards, will screen In the Name of the Emperor. She will talk about her experience in documenting the film that includes testimony of soldiers, scholars, and survivors. A panel discussion involving Christine Choy, Professor Brett de Bary, Naokia Sakai, and Mark Selden will explore the different versions of the Nanjing Massacre and how this atrocity is relevant to today. Reception will follow in the International Student Lounge in WSH.

On Sunday, Oct 21, 2001 at 8:30pm in Art Gallery in Williard Straight Hall Following the reception, we will open the Art Gallery for the photographic exhibition. The exhibition will start from Oct 21 to Oct 26, 2001

On Monday, Oct 22, 2001 at 6:30pm in HEC aud in Goldwin Smith Film Screening and a testimony of a survivor The documentary relies heavily on footage from Rev John Magee's film record of the events in Nanjing. John Magee was the Chairman of the Nanking Red Cross Council during the time of the Japanese occupation. He filmed the events at Nanjing with a 16mm movie camera. After showing the film, Chang Chu Yeh, a survivor of the Nanjing Massacre will talk about his personal experience.
