The plural is important here.

No anti-war movement ever has stopped a war in any of its early stages, nor will any anti-war movement _ever_ wucceed in that.

There is absolutely nothing, nothing whatever, that we can do now that will have any effect on U.S. government actions within the next 12 months or so. This is axiomatic and other assumptions can merely be ignorned as childishness.

-You´re right, with the current wave of right wing chauvinism it will -be difficult to make the US understand that this war won´t defeat -terrorism, and so it is only stupidity and cruelty (how many thousands -people will die as a consequence of the humanitarian crisis started -by USA?). As the failure of those policies will become evident, then -there is a hope. In fact we have a war between Islamic fundamentalism -and US political fundamentalism. I hope both fundamentalisms will be -defeated in the end, but there is a risk of Islamic victory, since the -US military actions seems so crazy that they may ignite fanatism not only -in the Middle East but also in Asia, while failing to achieve their -military objectives (ie., crippling the terrorist network).
