Whether this is true or not, it is important for people to remember that there is no such thing as a private utility. Hence it should simply be assumed that communications by wire, wireless, or u.s. post office will be available to the government if it should so desire. If the ACLU or various liberals can hassle the FBI etc. over this, fine. But it really doesn't matter much.
