"From 1981 till 1991, the US government, under VP and President George Bush, spent an estimated $3 billion in tax dollars supporting radical Islamic militants including Osama bin Laden. The US sent thousands of these fighters to Afghanistan to fight against the Soviet Union. Thousands of these militants were organized starting in 1988 by bin Laden into the Al Qaeda terrorist network.
