India a terrorist state: Omar
DOHA: India, along with the US, Russia and Israel, is responsible for global terrorism, according to Taliban supreme leader Mullah Mohammad Omar. In a message broadcast Friday by the Qatar-based Al-Jazeera satellite television station, he said, "This world has long been troubled, and full of wars and ...these troubles will continue and these wars intensify. This is not caused by terrorism, but by the four countries which bear the responsibility for terrorism: America, India, Russia and Israel." These states, he claimed, perpetrate injustice of all forms and that there is a permanent war between Muslims and these countries. "This is why Muslims worldwide hate these states and want revenge... This is not terrorism," the reclusive Omar, who never appears before a camera, said in the message read out by a spokesman. Calling for a holy war against these states, Omar said, "If Americans brand jehad `terrorism' and the mujaheed`terrorist', does resistance to these iniquitous countries not lie in jehad?" As a response to this injustice, the Taliban supremo argued, jehad becomes an obligation for every Muslim in the world.
