>...Left-wing French philosophy including the works of Sartre, Barthes,
Kristeva...

Kristeva left that Tel Quel Maoist, Althusserian structuralism behind long ago. Partisan Review, a while ago, published an interview where she excoriates the, "anti-Americanism, " of the, "PC Academic Left." http://ms.cc.sunysb.edu/~hvolat/kristeva/krist06.htm "Two Interviews with Julia Kristeva," Partisan Review, 51, 1, 1984, pp. 120-32. [Elaine HOFFMAN BARUCH and Perry MEISEL]. Trans. by Brom ANDERSON and Margaret WALLER.

For Derrida on Human Rights doctrines see, "The Politics of Human Rights, " Verso, 2000. All the heavy hitters, Rorty, Habermas, Rawls, Lévinas, Lyotard, Peter Dews, Charles Taylor, etc. All here, btw. ( think the Verso vol. has Derrida.) http://www.usm.maine.edu/~bcj/issues/three/contents.html Michael Pugliese
