Job Announcement: Director of Outreach

The Worker Rights Consortium (WRC), a non-profit organization working to end sweatshop conditions in the global apparel industry, is seeking a Director of Outreach.

Background on the Worker Rights Consortium

The WRC was founded in 2000 and has emerged as a leading labor rights monitoring and enforcement organization.

* Works with our 82 affiliate colleges and universities, domestic and international non-governmental organizations, students and labor unions to end violations of worker rights where they are uncovered.

* Carries out worker education programs, in cooperation with local non-governmental organizations, to inform workers and worker advocates about Codes of Conduct and domestic and international labor law and the right of workers to lodge complaints and seek investigation of Code of Conduct violations.

* Disseminates information about factory locations and working conditions to colleges and universities, the media and the general public

* Conducts broader research on working conditions and worker rights issues in the global apparel industry and other manufacturing industries.
