this argument started because brad (iirc) couldn't understand the anger and suffering that would cause anyone to celebrate what happened yesterday. i think you both, perhaps along with andrew sullivan, mistake an attempt to understand that celebration for the celebration itself. i am not celebrating. unlike mr sullivan, i am not denigrating or discounting *anyone's* suffering.
what i am doing is worrying what will come of this, what will come of the media replaying that same footage of celebrations and the hatred, denigration, and sheer destruction it is being deployed to inspire.
