Conspiracy theorists like to talk about unlikely coincidences. Back in the '50s at Michigan, in reference to a Detroit pithcer by the name of Foytack, we use to remark that if you throw the ball often enough some of the pitches have to be strikes. So we referred to Swinburne as a Foytack pitcher: write enough lines and some of them have to be good.
