following the discussions on LBO thru the archive. Your e-mail on probability was a howler. The probability of winning *at least once* the lottery in ten consecutive games is equal to (1-the probability of not winning at all in ten consecutive games) which is

1 - (999999/1000000)^10

which is roughly 10/1000000.

In one million consecutive games

1- (999999/1000000)^1000000

which is roughly 1-(1/e)=0.63, where e is the Euler constant 2,71828.

Friggin´ economists...
