Gloria Steinem to speak in Toledo

Anyone who in any way defended the welfare reform act of 1996 is an
enemy of women -- not merely an inadequate supporter of women. But that
is just one of a thousand unacceptable compromises (it is a corruption
of language to call them merely compromises) that the would-be
progressive must make if she/he is to remain tied to the repulsive
leadership and principles of the DP. Dancing the Macarena with Clinton
should be the epitaph on her tombstone.

On the other hand, it is probably pointless to keep bringing up the CIA
thing. After all, support of the Democratic Party and support of the CIA
sort of go together, and the former is blatant part of the public
record.
