Yes. But if you want to change that tradition you have to have a clear
understanding of its material grounds, and the ways in which it has been
maintained by the conscious activity of politicians, media, etc. And
that means seeing the American working class as the VICTIMS not the
perpetrators of this tradition. If you see them as the perpetrators, all
you can do is stand on the sidelines indulging in self-satisfying moral
diatribes. Hence, the following --

is profoundly wrong. WE have not done that. The ruling class and its minions have done that. Accepting this, and incorporating that acceptance in our language (i.e., getting rid of that fucking we that combines ruling class and working class) is the first (and essential) step in changing the tradition.
