I don't know. didn't bother to read. but, you know what? more and more, I dig this line tossed at me by an acquaintance recently:

"Every asshole with an agenda that involves suffering for others will now step up to the microphone and demand that suffering. Unfortunately (in the U.S.) we have a ready-made ethos in which personal suffering can be seen as a meritorious Ding-an-sich, as an auto-da-fe." (Name withheld on request)
