one or two relatively HUGE volume transactions would go thru, usually doing little to the price movement. I assume those were buys. Usually the individual transactions were small, with an occasional 5000 shares at the high end. Though a big deal is made of the company's owners, Hughs, I think the name is, mother and son, being black, I came to wonder if the creation of a non-voting stock might not be a way to put all the power in the Hugh's hand, maybe so they could sell to ViaCom(CBS) or something. (Then someone, maybe Viacom, bought BET, the Black Entertainment Television group. Also, when I was reading the SEC docs, there seemed to be an awful lot of extra stuff about indemnifying the officiers than I was used to seeing in such company docs. And I started thinking about the power there was in controling the content of this consolidated ever growing group of African-American oriented stations. And it seemed to me that they got an incredibly good deal on the many stations they had just purchased from Clear Channel(or Censorship Channel)though I really don't understand that stuff. When the stock did it's last speedy, dramatic plunge, it occurred that the fall beyond the norm maybe had something to do with racism and confidence. (the Covad guy was sure made to look bad though later telecom disasters rarely focused on the failings of the CEO) It was quite unusual behavior for that time in the market. But I ended up wondering about take-over, by whom I couldn't guess. Only imagine. I would love to hear what reality will be created in the minds of young listeners during this evenings panel discussion of the new war and the past devastation. Radio One will also supply content for new satelite digital radio XM Radio, which is just rolling out this week. Anyway, after a few months, the stock rocketed up to around where it was before that weird looking last plunge.
