many quick conclusions here. NEIS is also linked to <BR>the AFL-CIO and other
international union web sites and to EPI, where Max <BR>Sawicky works. It is
an attempt at a broader-based effort than just the <BR>remnants of SDUSA.
There are a lot of the recognizable SDUSA names here, but <BR>before one is
too dismissive remember that people like Paul Starr, founding <BR>editor of
the _American Prospect_ and author of the classic _Social <BR>Transformation
of American Medicine_, falls into the category of SDUSA <BR>intellectual. From
what I can see, some of the issue addressed by their <BR>"Organizing Unions in
the New Economy" conference are questions we need to <BR>address. The answers
they provide are problematic, but there are not a lot of <BR>folks even asking
