India is also carrying out joint exercises with the US army in Alaska.  It
is an odd situation where the US might actually be learning from the
Indians, who have more experience in cold climate warfare since their
occupation of the Siachen Glacier in Kashmir.

All of this US-India military alliance talk should not overshadow the fact
that commercial flights between India and China have resumed this week for
the first time since 1962 and the Prime Minister of India has agreed in
principle to pay a visit to Beijing later this year.  India, China, and the
US are all flirting with one another as the international system remains in
flux.
