PACIFICA BYLAWS REVISIONS EMAIL BULLETIN LIST

The process of reviewing and revising Pacifica's bylaws is under way. From time to time I will send out information I think might be useful in this process ... but I don't want to clog peoples' email with information they don't want.

Please email me back at wildrose at pon.net if you would like to receive bylaws-related material.

Please:

1) Put "SUBSCRIBE-BYLAWS" in the subject heading of your email. 2) Give me your name & tell me what station-area you are in -- (so that I don't burden KPFT people with email announcements relevant only to KPFA bylaws meeting). 3) This is NOT a discussion list ... you will receive bulletins only. (We need to look into a bylaws-related bulletin board discussion ... if anyone is willing to help set one up, please contact me.)

The local station sub-committee chair(s) are listed below. Please contact them for information about meetings in your station area (although I will pass along meeting notices that come to me).

RECOMMENDED READING: Two years ago the Mid Peninsula Committee to Free Pacifica group prepared a list of 55 governance options & put them up on a web site for people to use in whatever way they found useful ... you can find it here now: http://www.kinzelman.com/advocacy/pacifica/index.html

Former (dissident) Pacifica director Tomas Moran wrote about this work in December 1999: "I think they have done an excellent job of compiling many of the versions of governance options that have been discussed, and they have attempted to create a forum for discussion and debate that de-emphasizes personality and focuses on content. Each option has a "pro's and con's" section. One can read these and agree or disagree, or one might write an additional option."

The KPFA area subcommittee is putting its meeting notes up at http://www.ringnebula.com/Bylaws/ as well as various documents of interest.
