Forwarded from Johnson's Russia List. People might be interested in catching this.

Hmmm... Gorbachev, Yavlinsky, Chubais and Gaidar... A failed politician, a political corpse, and two complete scumbags. And all very popular in the West but not in Russia.

To David Johnson -- for JRL:

On Wednesday night,April 10, PBS in the United States (and Canada) will be broadcasting a two hour program "The Agony of Reform," dealing in significant part with the "agony" of change in Russia and Poland. It is Night Two of the Commanding Heights, based upon the book I co-authored of the same name. The

reviewer in the Washington Post described the series as "stunningly ambitious, brilliantly successful...No more important program for making sense of our life and tims has been on the air for at least a decade and just possibly a good deal longer." The series includes interivews with Gorbachev, Yavlinksy, Chubais, Gaidar, and many others...

For JRL readers in the rest of the world, the series can be viewed, streamed

over the internet, at www.pbs.org/commandingheights
