Back in 1967, Vietnam Summer, as it was called. (Probably an idea of Allard Lowenstein, no?).

William Schneider, Jr, the CNN/AEI centrist pundit had an article in The Atlantic back in '88 or '84 where he related an anecdote of when he was knocking on doors in that project back in '67 in Dorchester or Roxbury or some other ethnic working class section of Boston. Middle aged woman expresses oppositon to the Vietnam War. When Schneider follows up with a query about what she thinks of the anti-war movement, she says they're worse than the Harvard intellectuals that dreamed up the war. Michael Pugliese
