MOSCOW. April 17 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin has notified all state organizations, enterprises, companies and banks that all funds, other financial assets and economic resources of Osama bin Laden, Al-Qaeda and Taliban members as well as organizations linked to them must be frozen.
The UN Security Council has passed resolutions to this effect, reads Putin's decree. The decree was made public by the presidential press service
on Wednesday.
The decree bans the aforementioned individuals from entry into Russia and
transit though it. Moreover, it outlaws direct or indirect supplies, sales and transfers of weapons, dual-purpose goods and technologies, as well as provision of consulting services, assistance or training linked to military activities.
Aircraft, as well as other assets and financial resources of Ariana Afghan Airlines, are exempt from these prohibitions.
Putin has tasked several ministries and agencies with ensuring strict compliance with the decree.
