Greenspan, thinking

was killing some time in a library in Palm Desert, Calif -- as you can imagine, a hot bed of liberalism, with sunny bono for frosting.

they had a biography of ayn rand which i read part of and looked at the pictures. interesting stuff about her frustrated, narcissistic childhood in russia -- although the author, a rand disciple, certainly didn't intend to present it that way.

al g appeared in many of the pictures with ayn and the gang, sometimes lurking in the background, the eminence gris of randy fascism. he was definitely a part of the inner circle. ayn was almost smiling in a couple of pix, looking like a demented rosa klebb in From Russia with Love. in her lexicon, real men prefer rape -- it's such a good teaching tool. and real women are romanticized and simply dazzled by this display of masculine dominance, which generates instant respect and a new found insight into their "femininity."

ayn appears to have missed all the stages of mammalian evolution following lizard and leading to homo sapien.

a few moments of irrational exhuberance, perhaps? (after all, since rand

cannot permit such sentiments as love, her characters tend to rape each

other, if i recall correctly my silly teenage reading of fountainhead).
