Don't forget Lieberman's role, which was even more smarmy
than Gore's.  First, he continued his run for re-election to the
Senate, thereby making possible the loss of a Democratic seat
if he and Gore won, going so far as to elicit the disapproval of
our own BDL.  Then he double-crossed his own campaign
by endorsing the counting of illegal military ballots.
