Bush and Gore. Not that Gore is not horrible - but Bush is worse.

It sure seems that way, but, if Gore was in office after Sept 11 who's to say that the reaction would not have been just as or even more violent, but the rhetoric would not have been so nuts. Ditto on the Palestinian situation. I think the urgency that made the demos come together so well, would not have been there. And those Palestinians showing up on tv, like the young woman on the Today show, that might not be happening. It also seems that, as Chuck mentioned, there's this global consciousness forming that says that no, it's not ok for the US to do whatever the hell it wants. I think we gotta give Dr. Strangedick and his merry band of arrogant sociopaths some credit for that seemingly positive development.

On the other hand, if Gore was in office I think we'd be hearing a lot more about "reforming Social Security", though that would be tricky in this market.

A thought........the stock market usually does better when the Dems are in office right? But what if there was a central planning committee at work and it wasn't the Dems who brought on the market, it was the potential good market that brought on the Dems? At least in recent DLC history. Happy Days are here again. We don't need welfare when there are help wanted signs wherever you look. We don't need Social Security when every Tom, Dick and Harriet is taking personal responsibility for those 25% gains every year in the ole 401K.

I could see tree-hugging Gore bombing Bagdad and opening the Alaskan wilderness to the oil companies.

Ya just never know.
