You write to warn the Palestinian community to beware alliances with friends
who may not be friends at all, which is, abstractly speaking, a laudable
project. Yet I notice that there really isn't much need for the reminder, it
appears from the documentation that you provide that far from being warmly
accepted in the spring of 2001 by the Palestinian diaspora in the US, there
emerged expressions of serious concern about Israel Shamir in at least one
article from two prominent Palestinian diaspora activists, Ali Abunimah and
Hussein Ibish:
