Just to chime in as a real world example: I'm a webmaster who has been out of work in Washington, DC since March of last year. Thank god for that unemployment extension which is just kicking in for me (after a month of delay thanks to DC government's incompetence).

The job market for techies around here has gotten better since the beginning of the year, but most of the jobs generated by 9-11 are out of the question for me.

Just can't see an anarchist getting a security clearance to do web work for Northrop Grumman.

"...ironically, perhaps, the best organised dissenters in the world today are anarchists, who are busily undermining capitalism while the rest of the left is still trying to form committees."
