Exactly. Nader, or a general lack of left obeisance, is the scapegoat for progressive Democrats. Every failure or right-ward jolt of the party -- from an election where 1 out of 10 self-identified Democrats voted for Bush to the realization of Clinton policy aims such as welfare reform, the *intentional* torpedoing of universal health care, and Fast Track -- is someone else's fault. In this rote, only the Dems have the ability to realize a progressive agenda, but they are never responsible for it's neglect or betrayal. At base, the unequivocal demands to support the Democrats meets Santayana's definition of fanaticism, "redoubling your effort when you have forgotten your aim".
Besides, votes can only be "stolen" if they're the property of the party...
