Iran extradites al-Qaeda suspects to S Arabia

TEHRAN: Iran confirmed today the extradition to Saudi Arabia of 16 Saudi nationals suspected of membership in al-Qaeda, as Iranian President Mohammad Khatami arrived in Kabul for talks with Afghan officials.
"We have handed over to Saudi Arabia 16 members of al-Qaeda," foreign ministry spokesman Hamid-Reza Assafi told the newspaper Hayat-e-no.
