President Bush picked William Donaldson to head the Securities and Exchange
Commission, Republican officials said. An announcement was expected later
Tuesday. A co-founder of investment bank Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette, Mr.
Donaldson has also been a chairman and chief executive of the New York Stock
Exchange.
