Not strictly true; there are "employer-only" taxes, such as FUTA and state unemployment insurance, etc.

The FICA/Medicare "split" was mentioned earlier, but let's not kid ourselves: the total cost of an employee is all that matters to companies; if taxes were way higher and net take home pay was way lower, it wouldn't matter one bit to an employer.
