This worked at least once before. In 1970 I skipped out of Dan Visconti's chemistry class to join a march protesting the invasion of Cambodia in large part because in gym class that morning the rumor was that some of the "outside agitators" coming down from Stony Brook were girls and typically bra-less. They were right, and after the march I went straight home to study the....ah....1844 Manuscripts.
