I have trouble squaring John Taylor's role in the two Bush administrations with his personal demeanor. He is a very nice person, certainly the most unassuming faculty member in the Stanford economics department. Publishers representatives tell me that their evaluation is similar. I could even talk to him about left wing ideas.
