You never know Ravi :-) IMO one of the great contemporary cricket writers is
an American and a Marxist --- Mike Marqusee. His book about the 1996
(Cricket) World Cup War_Minus_the_Shooting was an instant classic.

I also remember a story from a few years ago about Rudolph Giuliani wanting
to provide city funding for a cricket stadium in NY, thereby wooing
immigrant voters from South Asia and the Caribbean.
