David Bohm posited a hidden-variables theory that was non-local, as did Bell. In the case of Bohm, his original objection to the Copenhagen Interpretation was the positing of quantum indeterminism as a fundamental aspect of physical reality. As a Marxist, he saw this as opening the door to irrationalisms which would have politically reactionary consuqences. Later on he abandoned Marxism, and even changed his mind somehat concerning quantum indeterminism but remained a firm advocate of a non-local hidden-variables approach.
