to help KPFK in los angeles get its new transmitters installed. transmitters which will have an impressive reach throughout southern calif, bringing in substantially more revenue for KPFK and pacifica as well as getting the word out.
actually, it's not the only time. when the houston station was damaged by right wing bombs, pacifica did national fund raising to get it back on the air. it may be the first time pacifica stations have shared the air together to help a station in need. and won't be the last.
